    12-day Golden Route

     

    City: Beijing-Xian-Guilin-Yangshuo-Shanghai

     

    Day 1: Depart Canada
    Your journey begins with the overnight transpacific flight. Cross the International Date Line.
     

     

    Day 2: Arrive Beijing
    Upon arrival, meet our guide and transfer to hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore this city.
     

     

    Day 3: Beijing (BL)
    Today we have Hutong tour by rickshaw or bike, visit local residents’ home, learn dumpling cooking and have dumpling food lunch with local family. Afterword we learn pottery making in a pottery art workshop. 
     

     

    Day 4: Beijing (B)
    Free day.
    Our suggested-list:
    Temple of Heaven to see and join in the local residents’ morning exercise; Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City, Silk Alley, Wangfujing Street, Panjiayuan Dirt Market; Peking Duck; Beijing Opera; Kung Fu Show; Lao She Tea House. 
     

     

    Day 5: Beijing-Xi'an (BLD)
    We drive 70km northwest of Beijing to the Great Wall to visit the longest man-made structure in the world. Then, visit the underground palace of Ming Tombs. On the way back we tour the exterior of the "Bird’s Nest" and “Water Cube” where hosted the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
    Night train to Xi'an. 
     

     

    Day 6: Xi'an (L)
    Arrive in the morning, and proceed to visit the excavation site of the Terracotta Army located 30km east of the city. Followed by visiting the Shaanxi History Museum.
    Our suggested-item in the evening:
    Try local food at Hui Street; visit Dancing Fountain of Wild-goose Pagoda Square.
     

     

    Day 7: Xi'an-Guilin-Yangshuo (B)
    Morning free.
    Our suggested-list:
    Cycling on or walking around the Old City Wall to see local people doing morning exercise and practice local opera; Gao’s Family House and watch local Pi Ying (Shadow) Show; visit Stone Tablet Forest (Bei Lin);
    Afternoon fly to Guilin whose name means "forest of sweet osmanthus trees". Make immediate transfer to Yangshuo and check-in hotel.
     

     

    Day 8: Yangshuo (B)
    Morning cruise to see the best part of the Li River. Proceed to visit the Silver Cave (Karsts cave).
     Our suggested-list:
    cooking school; out-door night show Impression of San Jie Liu
     

     

    Day 9: Yangshuo (B)
    Free day.
    Our suggested-list:
    Cycling around Moon Hill Scenic Area; Bamboo rafting; Karst Hill Climbing; mud bath; evening walk around West Street and try local flavor.

    Day 10: Yangshuo-Shanghai (B)
    Morning fly to Shanghai, and transfer to hotel.
    Our suggested-list:
    Nanjing Road or Xin Tian Di Shopping Complex;
    evening entertainment acrobatic show.

     

    Day 11: Shanghai-Canada (B)
    Free day.
    Our suggested-list:
    The Bund, Yuyuan Garden, Town-God Temple bazaar; Pudong New District, Maglev train ride; Huangpu River Night Cruise. 

     

    Day 12: Shanghai-Canada (B)
    Bid farewell as we transfer you to the airport for your return flight to Canada.
     

     

    Notes:
    - City transport: tour coach, public transit, bike, Pedi cab, on foot;
    - B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner, SD=Special Dinner;
    - Some of the breakfasts are Chinese style;

    • Tips for tour guides, drivers, porters, staff on cruise and tour leader;
    • China Visa fee;
    • Personal natures such as laundry, alcoholic beverages and telephone call;
    • Excess baggage.
    Remarks:
    • Full package may change due to the adjustment of international airfare, airport tax and fuel surcharge;
    • For traveling with Air Canada, once seat availability is confirmed, clients must have their tickets issued before the deadline set by the airline;
    • Child Rate (2-11 yrs): 80% of the adult fare sharing room with 2 adults, no extra bed.
