Visa Requirements
Canadian passport holders
All passengers traveling to China are required to have a visa prior to entering the country. The number of entries will depend on which tour you decide to join.
Single entry visa ($50 per person)
If you join in a tour that does not include Hong Kong or juse exit from Hong Kong, you are only required a single entry visa.
Double entry visa ($75 per person)
If you join in a tour that does include Hong Kong, you are required a double entry visa because once you enter Hong Kong, you are considered leaving Mainland China. A second entry is needed to continue your tour from Hong Kong to Mainland China.
Visa application procedures
All Chinese Consulates are no longer accepting visa applications by postal mail due to security purposes. Therefore, if you do not live close to the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Toronto, and need our assistance in obtaining China visa, please send your passport by secure mail service or deliver it to our office. $20 service fee applies per passport. The visa must be used within a 3-month period (90 days) or else it will expire. An individual visa is only good for to 30 days after your date of entry into China. head covering;
4. The applicant must come in person or may authorize someone (no authorization letter is necessary) to
apply on his/her behalf and pick up the visa at the consulate;
5. A single entry visa is normally valid for 3 months from the date of issue; the duration of stay in China is no
more than 90 days. A double entry visa is usually valid for 6 months; the duration of stay in China is no
longer than 180 days. The applicant may apply about one month in advance before the trip to avoid visa
expiration.
6. After the applicant enters China, if his/her actual length of stay is longer than the visa given, he/she must
apply for extension of stay at the local public security bureau before his/her visa expires. The applicant will
